Midlands Technical Centre (MTC)
Royal Leamington Spa is a thriving town in Warwickshire, in the heart of the English countryside. Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Coventry are all situated within 10 miles, whilst the Cotswolds and Birmingham are reachable in 30 minutes and London in an hour. A strong local economy, beautiful Georgian architecture and a cosmopolitan atmosphere all make Leamington a popular place to live.
Ricardo’s Midlands Technical Centre is located in the village of Radford Semele just outside Leamington. A canal-side location, set in leafy grounds with ample parking, the Midlands Technical Centre comprises a high precision manufacturing facility, test, development and low volume production facilities, vehicle engineering workshops and our engineering offices.
Technical Focus
MTC is the centre of excellence for Ricardo’s Vehicle Systems and Driveline and Transmission Systems engineering. Clean energy projects which build upon our transmissions know-how are also increasingly supported from MTC.
Driveline & Transmissions
From design and analysis right through to durability confirmation, our facilities allow for fast and functional development of a wide variety of transmission products and control systems. Complementing our engineering expertise, our manufacturing operations produce high performance transmission products largely for the motorsport sector but this facility also facilitates prototype production.
Vehicle Systems
Our vehicle systems team works on projects ranging from military vehicles and heavy plant right through to passenger cars. Supporting our engineers is our 1700sqm vehicle engineering workshop in which we can produce concept demonstration vehicles, build and manufacture OEM engineering prototypes, and facilitate military/ emergency services/ truck upgrades.
